Painting The Bryan

This past fall I was honored to be able to spend three days on the grounds of The Bryan Museum in Galveston Texas. I painted the museum itself which was an exciting challenge artistically for me as I typically do not paint architecture.

I was pleased with the final piece and “The Bryan” is now proudly hanging in the Directors Office of The Bryan Museum. What a thrill to know my tribute to this beautiful building with such an amazing history is home.

Galveston has played an important role in my family history dating back to the 1800’s. My Great Grandmother survived the 1900 Galveston Storm and ten days later my Grandfather was born in Galveston. The Bryan Museum also has an amazing history as one of Galveston’s oldest orphanages.

I encourage you to read about the museum and its history. The restoration done on this forgotten building and what it represents today is amazing. Many of my original pieces are now available for purchase in The Museum Store. thebryanmuseum.org
