2016 Dripping Springs Vodka Texas wildlife series contest winner "The Visitor"

In June 2016 I was honored to be chosen as a winner of The Dripping Springs Vodka and Gin Texas Wildlife Label Contest. My drawing of “The Visitor” was chosen and made into this fabulous label. I was treated to some wonderful prizes but most exciting was my visit to the distillery itself.

If you are ever in Dripping Springs Texas I highly suggest a tour of the distillery. Everyone was friendly and treated me like part of the family. These limited edition bottles turned out so beautifully and it was exciting to see my artwork coming down the line!

“The Visitor” is a drawing based on a solo journey I took in March 2016 to Caprock Canyons State Park, Texas to camp with, study, sketch and paint the Official State of Texas Bison Herd. This particular large bull bison had wondered into my camp in the early morning hours as I was packing up to leave. He was breathtaking, massive and peaceful. His visit to my camp was the perfect send-off to an amazing adventure. To have his image featured on the Dripping Springs Vodka bottle was just the icing on the cake.
