My motto has always been Be Creative, Be Happy!

As an artist I love to experiment, create and play with all sorts of mediums. I enjoy the discovery of new techniques and materials. I often say I like to create intuitively because I try not to have too many limitations or expectations when I begin the creative process. Sometimes it is difficult to turn off the negative inner voice inside us all that makes us hesitant or doubt ourselves.

What I've learned over the years is that most artists, beginners and pros, all suffer from the same thing, self doubt, lack of inspiration or maybe even inspiration overload.

Not knowing where to begin or feeling overwhelmed.

I've never met one adult student who didn't come into the studio feeling nervous and thinking everyone else must be better at creating art than they are, everyone must be more experienced.

Comparing our art to others is completely natural. So is feeling stuck, uninspired or struggling to find your own unique voice as an artist.

You're not alone.

After years of teaching, I have discovered that my talent is not only creating art, but in helping other women make a creative space for themselves, literally and figuratively.

Most women and moms tend to put the needs of others before their own. We've spent years working hard and building up everyone around us.

Often that leads to a lot of self doubt in our own abilities or putting too much pressure on ourselves.

My hope is that here you will find inspiration, calm, self confidence, direction while learning how to create a space for art and yourself.

You'll learn some awesome tips and techniques and come away with a piece of art you enjoyed creating and the tools you need to continue to create on your own.

If that sounds like what you're looking for then you've come to the right place and I look forward to helping you on your creative journey.

See you in the studio!

Artist Holly Nowak Bio

Holly Nowak is a Texas artist who creates in oil, acrylics, watercolor, clay and other mixed media. She is inspired by her love of nature and her bright, whimsical style is deeply rooted in the Texas landscape.

She has carefully curated a home studio where she has taught children and adults for the last ten years. Just outside her studio door she finds inspiration in her gardens along with an array of pets including her flock of hens she fondly refers to as “The Ladies”.

Holly can also be found at her studio in Houston’s Historic Arts District. Holly’s Winter Street Studio is located in one of the countries largest artist communities called Sawyer Yards where she is in the company of over 400 artists. There she hosts monthly events for Collectors and the public as well as teaches her in person workshops.

She discovered her love of teaching within her home studio after leaving a long career to fulfill her lifelong passion for creating art. Ten years later she has honed her skills not only as an artist, but in encouraging and inspiring others to pursue their own creative journey. Holly's focus is on inspiring other artists to make their own creative space where they can find their voice as an artist and nurture their own creative spirit.
