About Doni: A Journey in Art and Design

From a young age, Doni's creativity was evident in simple childhood activities like defining a "club house" with pine needles or arranging glass animals in her room. These early experiences laid the foundation for her love of interior design and art. Her high school experience in a stained glass studio further fueled her passion for the intersection of color, design, and space.

While Doni explored various artistic mediums, clay captivated her the most. It allows her to create both functional and sculptural pieces infused with whimsy and attitude. She delights in crafting statement pieces rich in texture and color, like quirky olive oil bottles or vases with playfully exaggerated forms.

In her narrative work, Doni draws inspiration from the emotional journeys we all share. She often incorporates heart symbols, crusty finishes, and patterns featuring birds and butterflies to tell these stories. Her garden totems and wall-hung hearts reflect themes like the circle of life and human emotional growth.

Nature’s textures, from the chalky rock mesas of the Southwest to the intricate markings on turtle shells, deeply inspire Doni. These elements influence her art, allowing her to portray the layering and passing of time in her unique creations.
